DAS 800 Series

Retaining Compounds

Even in the best press fit conditions there is only 20 to 30 percent of actual metal to metal contact. DAS Retaining compounds fill all the space and surface irregularities between the two cylindrical parts creating a strong durable, unitized, precision assembly. By filling all the voids, the overall strength, reliability, and performance properties of the finished assembly are greatly enhanced. The strength will be 2 to 3 times greater than that of the original press fit. These products also create a corrosion free surface between the mated surfaces. Ideally used on cylindrical, non-threaded assemblies such as bearings, pulleys, shafts, bushings, etc. DAS Retaining Compounds are cost effective, eliminating costly locking devices such as a shaft collars, keyways, splines, set screws, tapers, knurls, etc. Machining tolerances can be relaxed simplifying the assembly process and lower the costly process time in tooling to a press fit. DAS Retaining Compounds enhance manufacturing techniques offering improved quality in the finished product, better reliability, are cost effective, and easy to use. They are single component, solvent free compounds, ready to use right out of the bottle, or can be easily automated. DAS Retaining Compounds are available in a complete range of cure times, viscosities, gap filling properties, and strength characteristics.
